I'm still doing the blue prints of the v3.0, and I'm in the process of rethinking the design of this forum. It's not so bad, but it's not nice, and especially, I think it misses the New order related link. I'm willing to check out any design that can be submitted, especially for a color patern, and especially for the buttons & other images, plus, anyone wanting to give a shot to a "revamping" of the list pages is more than welcomed. Of course, you noticed that NOOL is in the blue scheme ;) that is still a key. Just checking if anyone is interested in working on buttons & other stuff, remember that the forum is the most active part of the site, and the key will always been loading speed too! So your design would be viewed by a lot of people... :thumb:

I actually think it is rather nice, you know! One suggestion may be an optional "low bandwidth" version, cos it can be a bit image-heavy at times.

Surely after Community :D I hate the fact that my PC is hijacked by Visual Studio.NET, it slows down the computer so much that I'm about to remove it.. but I have a better computer at work (for the first time ever!) and I might give it a shot from here in my lunch hours when I feel like it :D

i like this look.
I like it too, well, I like some part of it, things like the thread page and the post page are dated and should be enhanced.. And I think since it's a New Order based forum, we should add a few elements about it... not too much, just a touch!

The beauty of this forum is its user-friendly nature, and aside from simplifying the search facility, I wouldn't look to change too much. There are other aspects of the site that could do with maybe a different approach, but by and large everything is here. What sort of say can we have in future design of the rest of the site ? I'd welcome the opportunity to contribute ideas for the other bits - I guess they aren't as frequently browsed as the forum.

I like the site/forums as they are - very well done. If they become too graphic-laden, it might slow down response times, especially for those with slower connections. However, as always, I'm more than happy to contribute - as long as I know what's needed :thumb:

yeah, they´re pretty slow. and i have broadband! i don´t know how could make it faster though. maybe there´re too many images, smilies, avatars etc.?
One solution may be to add a size-limit on the avatars. Another solution that I use is to surf using Opera in its MDI mode (multi-document within the appliction). I use the mouse-gesture-thingy they have (or the keyboard combination) to open the threads (pages) I want to read in the background of the current window (document). The background pages keeps on loading while I reading another page. When I'm done with one page, another page is already fully loaded and ready to be read. You can of course do this in other browsers as well, but it will require more steps on your part. The above technique is also very useful when searching for something using Google or reading a newspaper online. I'm sure this has been mentioned already, but it'd be nice to see what topics have new postings since the last time I looked. /TLV

i want to say something about the polls. is it possible to remove the "view results" button? that would make the people vote to know what´s going on. many people cheat and see what everybody else is voting. with that information they come back and vote, clearly influenced by what they saw. i think it could be useful for the Community polls...

Since you can vote for a government and have seen the surveys in the paper the day before, if your vote is influenced by what others are saying, then you have a problem :D
