OrderSongNotes

From NewOrderOnline.com (Kerry Jaggers)

I most remember that there had been a drought on in LA for years. It was a warm night for LA. The packed house made it hotter yet. I had an All-Access laminate, so was able to take a stroll through the amazing, packed venue to feel out the crowd and look for the sweet spot. I decided that, as usual, the area around the main sound board was the place to listen and headed back there as I knew the song that seemed to be the story of my life was next.

I didn't quite make it though. Just as Barney sang, "I've been walking in the rain just to get wet on purpose" an honest-to-God MIRACLE occurred. The sky opened up and the most lovely rain poured down on us just for the duration of "Getting Away with It". I had to postpone my visit to Oz and remember standing somewhere between the stage and the sound board. I recall being grateful that the rain made it difficult to tell that tears were pouring out of my eyes.

The rest of the night was a flood of faces and celebration. The band's first appearance was a smashing success... Drew Barrymore and Mick from Simply Red were holding court back stage as Depeche wooed the stoked crowd and we celebrated as much as we dared knowing that it all had to be repeated the following night.
