Only thing i get out of Love Vig now is Barney's "acid influenced" guitar bit two thirds of the way through.
The only thing i get out of Thieves now is the great long intro. Soon as Barney starts singing i often turn it off.
Thieves, just, for me though i think. First new release after i had become a fan. Still remember hearing that fantastic long intro for the very first time on Annie Nightingale's old Sunday night show on Radio 1 in ooohhh... around March 84

Love Vig used to be my favourite NO track... Not so sure now, but still gets my vote... I think the live versions from recent years are to blame... If they play Thieves next week however...  Snorri xxx

Love both but cast my vote for Love Vigilantes.
I prefer the Thieves Like Us instrumentation but LV gets the nod for it's inspired, mysterious lyrics. Nevermind that they revealed it as merely a rewrite of Vietnam, it easily eclipes that source material.

The synthy songs seem to be getting the upper hand in these contests. Thieves Like Us always seemed a bit of a pisstake, an attempt to make a cliched new wave pop song about love... of course being New Order is got all awkward, weird, and oddly beautiful.

Obviously my taste with regards to New Order is a lot different from most on here as I rarely listen to either track at all... Thieves Like Us wins it just about.
