I love and hate this song at the same time. It's so incredibly cheesy, yet I can't stop listening to it when it comes on.
Your thoughts?
Forever, watching love grow. Forever, letting me know.

1. Best bit: The intro of GUILT after skipping it. 2. Worst bit: Everything. 3. Why you love/hate it: For me, its the worst song of their entire career. REALLY disappointing. 4. Percentage rating: 0.0%

1. Best bit: The samples at the start - sets the scene for the story. 2. Worst bit: I like it all 3. Why you love/hate it: A really strong song - one of the best in recent years and some cracking mixes. Also a good perfomance with Anna Matronic at Glastonbury and a very good video. I fly a lot and often look out of aircraft windows and 'see' the single cover. 4. Percentage rating: 100%

This is my favorite song on WFTSC, andone of my fave NO songs in general.
I think its one of New Order's classic pop song, along with BLT, TF, ect.
Jetstream is incredibly catchy. the song has a great, uplifting melody, and it makes me feel good every time I hear it. I like that the song is about some kind of wierd romantic relationship ("its been so long since I made you cry") and the chorus is just gorgeous, meloduc, catchy, very uplifting.
I love how huge the song sounds, how clear Barneys vocals are, how clear all of the keyboards and synths are. I like Hookys bass work on it as well, its melodic, elegant, and understated.
Ana Matronics vocals sit in nicely as well.
Also, I love the piano intro. its superb.
New Order have different sides. Jetstream is a perfect examply of thier ability to write gorgeous, catchy dance pop songs.
While JET was a reasonably sized hit in Europe, and while it got a TON of play in dance clubs in the US, it should have been a bigger hit. I think JET should have been the first single from WFTSC, followed by GIAUE. The album would have done much better in the US market had this been the case.

I agree completely. People tend to have different takes on each song because some people like to listen to NO in their car/home while others like to hear NO cranked in a club. Each song fits one or the other (or sometimes both). It's great that NO write music for us in all situations. Jetstream... Kicks in a club and still pretty good while cleaning the kitchen!! Just because you're paranoid it doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

Don't know why this song always gets such a beating. It's no classic but it ain't a disaster either. Plus I fancy Ana Matronic.

I feel exactly the same. 1. best bit - nice intro, beat, melody 2. worst bit - very lame lyrics, worse than Weirdo(?) 3. why i love / hate it - i love it because of the beat and melody is actually nice, and simply because it is, New Order. i hate it because it has very lame lyrics. 4. rating - B-/C+ Indeed!
