1. when both the drums, the bass, and the guitar come in. i like each one. 2. gets a bit repetitive, but not long enough to really tick me off. the vocal effect during the chorus rubs me the wrong way a bit. 3. one of the great early singles. the lyrics are good stuff. i wish it was faster. 4. 90%
My life ain't no holiday. I've been through the point of no return. I've seen what a man can do. I've seen all the hate of a woman, too.

1. the rhythmitic, pulsating sequencer. i absolutley love the long instrumental outro after Barney sings "show me," and how the sequencer gets louder and louder as Barney's guitar fades out, and how the sequencer slowly slips out of sync with the drums near the end. i think this was the first song New Order used a sequencer, and it woks brilliantly. Everything's Gone Green really is the blueprint for 586 and Blue Monday... one could really see the progression from live shows as they perfect EGG, 586, and BM one after another.
2. Martin Hannet's surprising dull production. not up to his usual standards. he made the song sound flat and lifeless, with no bass extension.
3. it's dark, pop, rock, and dance all rolled into one. a very important New Order song as they got progressively more confidant in their self-production and songwriting abilities. it really is the first song they broke out of the Joy Division mold after "Movement," and i think that's really important. my favourite New Order single. 95%
