| Why
do I like New Order? |
I first got into New Order because of True Faith. I heard the song back in 1987, liked it, I bought the soundtrack of Bright Lights Big City because the song was on it, but I never managed to listen to other stuff until 1990 when a friend made me a tape, which I started listening and listening until I finally start to like all songs.
One album after another, I finally started to like them all... and I'm currently working on Joy Division material and I'm liking it ;-)
At first, the reason why I liked New Order were the great dance tracks.. True Faith, & Bizarre Love Triangle were the only song I knew, I knew Blue Monday but I'm not a fan of Blue Monday.. I liked Getting Away With It in 1990, and with all those track on the tape I was able to listen to the tape more than once and it got into me.
Later, I discovered Hooky's bass, and that's what got me really into New Order. I can't help myself, I love the sound of that base.. I started to like the album version of BLT over the Shep Pettibone Remix, which was a radical change in my musical tastes.
So why do I like New Order? It made me discover british music other than mainstream radio and I love it! |
