Things are a bit up and downy at the moment. First a very nice colleague went to see his gp because of a pain in his right arm, turned out he had no less than three brain tumours. They gave him 3 months, that was two months ago and he died on Friday, aged 54. Then we were called in for a meeting and were told that 12 out of our 18 staff will be without a job from the 1st of Feb! Just like that, it's all going to Prague where labour costs are obviously only a fraction of what they are here. Anyway, I'm one of the six that are allowed to stay as we do specialised work which can't just be done anywhere. Still I wonder just how long before they get rid of us as well ... Most of my colleagues are 40+ so where the hell are they gonna go now? On the up side, my wee boy turned twelve last week and visited the 'big' school for the first time today. Poor soul's knacked ... I better go and spoil him :)
