Finally! The second live gig after 3 1/2 years. This time we had Labster´s help and we played a full 17-track setlist including own material and cover versions of Miss Lucifer by Primal Scream, Femme Fatale by The Velvet Underground, Paradise by New Oder, Big Exit by PJ Harvey and Ki Omos Eimai Edo by Labster.









The whole thing´s been taped and we made a 2DVD including images from rehearsals.

i found a job! or -in order to say it right- someone decided to hire me. i´m a cashier in a restaurant now, who would have imagined that? it´s only for 2 months as i´m replacing a nouvelle mother with a 2 months maternity license. it´s a start!

we can´t do it anymore and it´s a shame really. this is the same open letter we wrote on retroforwardradio.com explaining why:


We´re sorry to tell all of you we won´t do Underground anymore. Not because we don´t want to but because we can´t. It´s a lot time consumming and both of us (Ishtar and Almanso) don´t have enough time to search for all the bands, listen to all the songs, pick up the ones we like, make the playlists, contact the artists, upload their profiles, review the albums they send, record the shows and broadcast them. Unfortunately (and fortunately) we´re a lot more busy with our own personal careers and projects nowadays so that makes it impossible to put all the energy Underground requires. And that´s a LOT.

We both enjoyed very much doing this show because not only we found excellent musicians from all over the world but we also met very kind and interesting people. Underground wasn´t just about the music, it was just an excuse to get together and many ones understood that (just check out our Artists section and browse all those profiles they sent, dozens!). So we thank all of them for believing in this project and we hope they take the spirit of Underground to every corner of the world because that´s the best way to do things, together.

We´d also like to thank WenOrder for supporting us and letting us make the show we´ve always wanted to make with absolutely no restrictions for us or the contents of the show. And for all the other RetroForward DJs who collaborated with us in one way or another for the past 9 months. We love you all very much. Long life to RetroForwardRadio!

Well, there isn´t much more to say. It´s sad for us because this is our baby and we really enjoyed making this show. This wednesday August 31th will be our last broadcast and we hope all of you can listen. We´ll keep sending all of our shows for podcast (we still have many ones to upload) so everyone has the chance to listen to them. We´re sure all the contacts we made will remain in the future so this is not a "goodbye"... it´s a "see you soon".

they found a cancer tumor in my dad´s body a couple of months ago, he went to surgery and they took it out. and they did it so well he doesn´t have to go through quimotherapy and rays.

now, i made a promise that if he fully recovered i had to do certain thing. i won´t tell it just yet. but i wanted to know if any of you went through something like that. what did you promise? did you accomplish what you promised or decided not to do it? and if you didn´t do it, did anything happen to you or the other person?

i´ll do it, i don´t want to take any chances. it´s like a signed contract to me!

it´s official. i´m allergic to (almost) everything. not only dust and all that but also tobacco (thank god i quitted smoking this year), egg, banana, tomato, kiwi, orange, lemon, grapefruit, strawberry, chocolate and latex..... and i wondered why i was sneezing all the time and having those terrible headaches and itchy eyes and skin. i have to stop eating those elements for 3 months and they say the body alone will accept again that food. and for the other stuff i have to take an oral vaccine for god knows how long. i went through this a couple of times with injections that didn´t make any difference in about 18 months so why should i trust this time will be different? but the tricky part is the latex which requires a special vaccine that they only make in Spain. so i rather live with it (you can imagine what consecuences does it provoque) or spend a huge amount of money in that vaccine.

a band. it used to be Nemesis, but we changed it because of the thousand of bands around the world with the word Nemesis on their names. so we checked out and Glasnost was available.

why Glasnost? well, i´ll tell my side of the story, Sophia can tell hers! i´m a lefty, as you might know. i´m a russophile but that doesn´t mean i´m a communist, because i´m clearly NOT. the fact that i play with lefty images such as Che Guevara is more iconic than real. but i do think the "idea" of communism is fantastic although it failed catastrophically. one of the (many) things i don´t like about communism is the lack of freedom. and in the days of Gorvachev the "glasnost" was one of the things that helped to open the cage. literally means "openess" or "transparency" and one of the things that got beneficiated with that were the arts. so Glasnost as a concept means to me: "open the cage". and it has this freshness phonetically speaking, with the english word "glass" sounding there and making more sense with the "transparency" concept. Glasnost to me is cold, white and blue, fresh air, blue sky, snow, it´s in russian but it defines a concept that everyone understands... i love it!

Underground is one of the many shows on retroforwardradio.com. it´s a little project of mrs Ishtar and myself. we play underground or unsigned artists from all over the world. pop, rock or electronic based acts with strong influences on the 80s. and you won´t find anything that we don´t like. in fact what you hear might be less than 10% of all the hundreds of bands we see every week on the web. so that means we´re quite selective.
